December Treats – Fun with numbers

For the next month, at least until Christmas, I'm planning on posting unique scoreboards created by me every day (at least I'm trying to) The factory in ESC.FACTory isn't only a wordplay on the word "fact" (as I started out as a ESC fact site), but also stands for me playing around with the scoreboards. And I think the best time for posting them is before the main national final season starts in January (because from mid-January to early March is usually when we have the most action) You may already find them on my instagram, but not all of them. I will only explain each scoreboard idea once, in the first post. The years will be in ascending order, sometimes with exceptions. Enjoy :)

Friday Fact of the Week #7

Something weird has been going on with the running order positions of Germany and Romania. 2015: Sweden performs 10th (winner) 2016: Germany performs 10th Ukraine performs 21st (winner) 2017: Germany performs 21st Portugal performs 11th (winner) 2018: Germany performs 11th So, for three years straight, the winners predicted Germany's running order slot for the next contest. It was ruined when Germany was drawn into the first half in 2019, therefore having no chance to be assigned 22nd, Israel's running order slot (also the one Germany won from in 2010) And, as a bonus, Sweden won from 17th in 2012 while Germany finished last from the same slot in 2015 (coincidentally, when Sweden also won) But, it gets even crazier!  2009: Romania performs 22nd 2010: Germany performs 22nd (winner) Romania performs 19th 2011: Azerbaijan performs 19th (winner) Romania performs 17th 2012: Sweden performs 17th (winner) So this means that Romania actually predicted the winner's running order slo...

Friday Fact of the Week #6

Running order curiosities part 2! Marion Rung from Finland competed in the contest twice, in 1962 & 1973, and performed first in both occasions. The opposite occured to Björn Skifs from Sweden. In both of his participations in 1978 & 1981, he was the last artist to perform, both times 20th. Jahn Teigen from Norway competed three times. In two of them, he performed 2nd. The other time, he was the 3rd to take the stage. Bonus fact: The latter two met in 1978! All of them are Nordic countries!
